Pleasantly Surprised! Nice Place

This was my first time here. I didn't know what to expect since I had had heard this was formerly the Waikiki Terrace and was recently remodeled. I was pleasantly suprised to find out how extensive the renovations to the rooms and hotel were once we arrived for our stay. Rooms were very nicely appointed! We stayed in a studio with a fully equiped kitchenette and found this very useful. We found the hotel staff to be very nice! Our room was on the 14th floor and had a nice view overlooking the adjacent park and partial view of the ocean. The swimming pool was very nice and clean but only used it once as you have Waikiki beach only 10 minutes away.

We spent 3 weeks at the Outrigger Luana, and it was very enjoyable, the view was tremondous looking out over Ft. Dursey Park. The location was excellent so close to all the various bus routes within the island. Easy walking distance to the beach as well as the military Hale Koa and Waikiki Shopping areas. The staff provided excellent service especially the manager,along Castle, John, and Kenzil and others whose names I forgot. The staff was always willing to provide directions to various locations within the city area and provide recommendations on restaurants. There are no restaurants/bar within the hotel, but the gym provided the basic equipment. The only downside was the noise from the occasional motor cycles racing by on the street. We have stayed at other hotels on Waikiki but the Luana was the most convenient and low key.
