Spa Name:
Spa Luana
Pono in Hawaiian means 'the true condition of nature.' In terms of well-being, Pono is when the entire person--body, mind and spirit are in harmony. True health as nature intended.
The first step in achieving this harmony is to relax. Our name, Spa Luana, takes its meaning from this spirit of relaxation. It's one of the best of all the Oahu spas, where you can achieve total relaxation and begin to find true health, as defined by the people and traditions of the islands.
The spa is available for resort guests as well as Oahu day spa visitors. Truly "a find" among Oahu day spas and Hawaii spa getaways.
My first stay at Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu from 9/2004-9/8/04 was a joy to experience! I shared a room with a longtime friend, and the room was very spacious, clean, with 2 full closets, one for each of us, an iron, hair dryer, toiletries, clean sheets, towels, room with a gorgeous view of the ocean overlooking the pool, and a great lanai. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly, going out of their way to advise us of good local spots to see, and dine at (try Giovanni's fish truck!). We took advantage of the $50.00 room meal credit, and found it more than adequate to pay for both of our dinners nightly. There was free poolside entertainment every night, the lobby is magnificently decorated. I can't say enough about the courteous staff at the desk, and at poolside, where fresh towels were provided at a moment's notice. Yes, there were some local people in the jacuzzi and pool, but they were very friendly. Oh, also, the food/chefs were phenomenal, providing great variety, and fresh food nightly. Perhaps some people might not like locals, and require a mint on their pillow, or help within one second of their request, and perhaps I am more laid back than some of the reviewers, but I found everyone to be happy, courteous, and friendly. I love Hawaii, and relish the laid back lifestyle, without the hustle and bustle, and find the slow pace relaxing and enjoyable. If the prior reviewers didn't have a great time, maybe Hawaii altogether is not for them! This was my 3rd trip to Hawaii, and the first stay at Turtle Bay, and I would highly recommentd it to all. Keep your mints, give me happy people, great food, and a real sense of Aloha anytime! Oh, and you can have the tourist influenced Polynesian Village, too! THAT is NOT the Hawaii I have come to cherish! Aloha and Mahalo Hawaii for your heart!

Dreaming of Turtle Bay
My Family and I came to Hawaii for the first time last December. It had been a dream of mine since I was a teenager living on the North Shore in Sydney, Australia. I had found Turtle Bay via the net and it was a dream come true. We all shared the one room, as our dollar doesn't buy that much in the USA, but that didn't spoil our holiday. The two teenage boys loved the pool, game room and generally hanging out while my partner and I sipped Mai Tais and flower drinks at any opportunity by the pool. The waves crashing into the rocks at this time of year was spectacular! I personally enjoyed the coffee cart in the mornings - a great way to save a dollar by getting take-away coffee and treats and enjoyed by the pool or on our balcony. We had a wonderful family day exploring the walks and secluded beaches around the hotel and I felt like I was on Gillingan’s Isle, the TV show. The big surf at this time of year is amazing. We just stumbled into a major surf competition at Waimea Bay! A great hotel, great staff - ALL of us enjoyed ourselves and are hoping to come back very soon. Maybe then I can afford a room for us (my partner & I ) and one for the boys. Until then I dream of Hawaii and Turtle Bay.

Island Paradise
I recently visited the island of Oahu and split up my time between Waikiki and Turtle Bay. After many days of being a tourist and shopping it was so nice to get to Turtle Bay where it is so quiet with a much slower pace of life. I found this to be heaven on Earth! I actually had an oceanfront cottage which sits on the west side of the property. These are so nice! They are all one story and have their own patios that lead out to the grass then the beautiful ocean. On this side of the property there is not too much sand and its a little too rough to get into the water. This was nice because even during the day it was really quiet and peaceful. I'd just sit on my patio and read a book. Beware though if you plan on hanging out there at night the bugs are there! I purchased some bug spray at the sundry shop they have up by the pool and was good to go after that. I loved staying here, but the best part was that I didn't have to fly to another island to get the peace and tranquility I was looking for.

They give out room keys to anyone!
Some random guest went to the front desk and asked for a room key, without any ID or even asking for a name the front desk freely gave this person a room key. Luckily we were there when this person accessed OUR room. He apologized, he sincerely thought that this was his room number and that the front desk had given him this key!!
What if we had not been around? My laptop, all of our shopping bags could have been taken!!! The manager phoned us and told us that a "rookie" had given this guy a room key and he "sat down and had a talk with him". That was the end of it. He reassured us that it would not happen again....

Beautiful Resort, EXCELLENT Price
For our honeymoon, we got an amazing deal at The Turtle Bay Resort through Great Hawaii Vacations. It included a 7th night free, free breakfast for two every day, and two free luau passes at the Polynesian Cultural Center (which we found out typically go for $110/person).
The Turtle Bay area is very peaceful and serene, which is exactly what we were looking for. The beaches, the pool, the incredible snorkeling, and the beautiful sunsets over the water were exactly what we expected. Our only complaint is that the rooms were a bit "tired" and could use a remodel. Aside from that, everything was perfect.
Thank you GHV! We will definitely recommend you to our friends and family...
