Best Place I Have Ever Stayed!

My wife and I stayed at the Ihalani in mid September of 2004. I have not ever experienced a better atmosphere for fun and relaxation. When we first got there we were greeted by friendly staff outside the front entrance. Walking into the front entrance there were 2 small fish ponds on the right and left side of the entrance. Inside the pond were large, colorful Coy swimming around. We proceeded into the front entrance and came into a beautiful lobby. There were also friendly people to greet us in the lobby. When you look straight up from the lobby you could see all 17 floors of the hotel. This is all great, but the real excitement starts when you go up to your room! We took the extravagant elevator to the 17th floor. When we got to our room and opened the door the light smell of ocean air tingles your senses. We walked into the most beautiful room that I have ever seen. The bathroom was elegantly put together with his in hers sinks on each side of the bathroom. The shower was clear glass, and the bathtub was deep and inviting. The real treat was walking into the main sleeping area. The large sliding glass doors were open and I could see the ocean from where I stood. You then get the expeience of walking out onto the terrace and seeing blue waters. Our room overlooked the beautiful round pool 17 floors below. To the left of the pool we could see the lagoon. This made me want to be stranded there forever! The lagoon was mushroom shaped with white sand all around the outskirts. There were beuatiful rock piles positioned at the mouth of the lagoon. The waves from the ocean were breaking on the rocks, and sound of it was soothing. Little did I know that I was going to see the largest variety of fish in the lagoon that a Wisconsionite would ever see. There is much more to tell, but I am getting depressed because I am not there right now. I will leave all of you with this. We traveled to many locations on the island, and experienced many things, but no matter where we were we wanted to be back at the Ihalani.
