Best Condo Values

Even though this time of year most people have eggnog on the brain and visions of Santa dancing in their head, now is the time to start planning that Spring Break trip you've been promising your family. We know that when you're bringing your family to Hawaii, it's usually just not practical to put everyone in a small, cramped hotel room. That's why condos can be such great values. There are lots of great deals out there right now, with everything from free nights to free car rentals. So, which properties are going to offer you the best bang for your buck? Check out some of our recommendations below.

Sugar Beach Resort - Kihei
When it comes to beachfront condos in Kihei your options are limited. The Sugar Beach Resort's beachfront location combined with reasonable rates make it one of the best options for accommodations in Kihei. The views, especially from their oceanfront units, are stunning. Also, the rates drop on April 1st, so if you're flexible with your travel dates staying here in April instead of March can save some money.

Tip to save you mone: Book your trip for an arrival after April 1st and you'll get a lower rate.

Outrigger Royal Kahana - Kahana
The Outrigger Royal Kahana offers the best of both worlds: comfortable, spacious condos with resort-type amenities such as a pool, fitness center and tennis courts. From your balcony at Outrigger Royal Kahana the sweeping ocean views seem like yours alone. The islands of Molokai and Lanai loom on the horizon. And from December through April, there's no better place on the entire coast to see whales spouting and breaching offshore.

Tip to save you money: Ask your agent if the Aloha Rate is available. It's the least expensive rate for the condos and is even less than the 4th night free promotion

Waikiki Shore - Waikiki
If you're looking for a beachfront condo in Waikiki, there's only one game in town: The Waikiki Shore. Thankfully, it's a nice condo property managed by both Castle Resorts and Outrigger (meaning both management companies have units there) with spacious rooms and an easy walk to lots of shops and restaurants. The one caveat is that they don't have a pool, though guests staying in an Outrigger unit will have access to the pool at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach next door.

Tip to save you money: Though Castle has a tempting 50% off promotion right now, Outrigger's exclusive Aloha Rate works out to about the same as Castle's promotional rate and gives you access to the pool next door at the Reef on the Beach.

Poipu Shores - Poipu
Simply some of the best views in the state. All the units are oceanfront, and all completely unobstructed. You can literally drop a rock off your balcony into the ocean - that's how close you are. The units on the inside are well furnished, too.

Tip to save you money: If you're looking for a 2BR, skip the "deluxe" option and go for the normal 2BR Oceanfront. The deluxe only gives you either a slightly larger room or a slightly more expansive view

Poipu Kai - Poipu
Poipu Kai has some of the largest condos (in terms of square footage) on Kauai. The grounds are well maintained and the locations of their six swimming pools ensures you'll be close to a pool no matter where your condo is. Other facilities such as nine tennis courts and BBQ facilities make this a great option for families and groups. Booking a gardenview unit? Ask for one located in the phase 2 section of the Regency section of the property for their newest units.

Tip to save you money: The only property offering a free car rental with each reservation. Be sure to ask your agent about it

Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff - Kona
The Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff rises high above the sea on a dramatic lava rock bluff. The terraced design provides for uninterrupted ocean views from open-air balconies. The central courtyard with cascading stream, tropical flowers, and flowing vines creates a peaceful garden retreat within the heart of this residential resort. As an added bonus, the sundecks of the oceanfront swimming pool offers panoramic views of the Kona Coast.

Tip to save you money: Though Outrigger is currently running a 3rd night free promotion, it's actually not the least expensive rate they offer, even if the number of nights you're staying is a multiple of three. For example, a six night stay in a 1BR Gardenview is still almost $150 less in total using the Aloha Rate than it is with the 3rd night free promotion. So, don't feel like you have to lengthen or shorten your stay to get an extra "free" night.

Aston Shores at Waikoloa - Waikoloa
At Aston Shores at Waikoloa, you can choose from one and two bedroom suites, as well as two and three bedroom villas. You'll have your own private balcony or lanai with wet bar, perfect for entertaining and enjoying the view. Amenities at Aston Shores at Waikoloa include a gated entry, swimming pool, jet spa, free tennis courts, fitness center, and outdoor barbecues. And for the golfers out there you'll enjoy preferential resort rates and tee times at either the Kings' Course or the Beach Course in Waikoloa Resort.

Tip to save you money: Ask your agent for the lowest "Rate Level" available. Aston now has different price points (called rate levels) available for the different categories, with Rate Level 5 being the least expensive and Rate Level 0 being the most expensive. If you can get the best
