Convenient Location and Good Value
Just got back from a week at Maui Sunset. Mostly agree with the other comments- great value, convenient location, great pool, beautiful well-kept grounds. After glancing at some surrounding units being cleaned, we determined that some units are in better shape than others. Also, be sure to get a condo that is away from both the stairway and elevator (noise). The location is great, with markets, beach gear rental locations, and fairly inexpenisve restaurants close by. For beaches as noted, one must drive to another location as the beach in front of the complex and in that area of Kihei is not good for swimming or sunbathing. Would definitely consider staying here again. |

Want to Go Back
The 5 of us stayed at the Maui Sunset in Kihei. It was a rental condo and was perfect for our needs. It was located on the beach and our room had a view of the ocean. Activities we participated in were: Trip to Hana by 12 person coach. It went all the way to Hana and around the southern coast of Maui and back to Kihei. It was worth every penney. Two teenagers came back effusive with all that they learned from the driver. The snorkel trip by the Pacific Whale foundation was wonderful.. We saw breaching whales, sea turtles, and spinner whales which put on a show. The knowledgeable staff was outstanding. The helicopter ride to Hana and the volcano was o.k. but nothing compared to an earlier ride in Kauai. |

Excellent Place for a Family
My wife and I and our two children recently stayed at the Maui Sunset. This place is excellent, clean rooms, helpful front desk, gorgeous golf course grass. The beach does have seaweed, but is cleaned daily. Awesome views in almost every direction. Nice social gatherings nightly around the grilles while your cooking. Good central location near everything you'll need...food stores, gas, strip malls. We highly recommend this place! |

Loved the Maui Sunset!
Loved the Maui Sunset. We spent a week recently at this property. The grounds were kept really neat and trim. The BBQ grills were cleaned daily and every person that worked there was very friendly. Check in and check out was very quick and easy. Parking was free and plenty of parking spaces. Good location too. I hesitated about putting in a review because I didn't want everyone to book their vacations there! |

Already Miss The Maui Sunset
Our one bedroom 2 bath unit was perfect for the 4 of us. Clean, neat, well kept, it was like someone lived there full-time. The grounds at the Sunset were maintained better than most golf course greens. There are 6 gas BBQ's on site that are cleaned spotless daily by the ground crew. This place is great. You could easily spend 4 or 5 times the amount we paid here and still not be staying in a nicer place. The location was great too. It's about 2 blocks north of the McDonalds, so there isn't all that bumper-to-bumper traffic you get further south in Kihei. Takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get to Lahaina, and about 15 to 20 minutes to get to Wailuku/Kahului. check out the website. This is really "what you see is what you get". I know we'll be staying at the Sunset when we go back to Maui. I miss it already. |

Can't Wait to Return to the Maui Sunset!
The one bedroom, 2-bath unit we stayed in was beautiful. I was amazed at how well the grounds were kept. It was a great value and worth every penny! I also hesitated about putting in a review because they will know what a great place they have and increase the price! If you want to party while on vacation this is not the place to stay though. Very family oriented I think. It seemed we drove to Lahaina (25 min) almost every day but the drive was so beautiful we didn't mind at all. The road to Hana is well worth the trip, my only suggestion would be to stop and pick up a picnic lunch and a CD if you’re going to drive. There are so many things to see...you just don't want to miss them!! We want to return in January/February to whale watch and we want to stay at the Maui Sunset. Loved it! |

Maui Sunset
This is a great place to stay. The rooms are well kept. There is a great view of the ocean and sunsets every night. It is close to shopping and dining. Peggy Sue's Restaurant is a must-try. The Front desk help wasn't very polite, but I believe it is just her nature. We would stay at again and WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND. |
