I think there are other options

Our family stayed at the Luana Kai because all the other places we wanted were either booked or too expensive. Would I stay here again? Yes. But, there are some better options out there.

Luana Kai , a great location

Luana Kai was perfect as our base location during our two week Maui visit. The property is well maintained and cared for and the staff is friendly and add to the overall positive experience. The pool area, which we visited daily includes a jacuzzi and several barbeque stations plus a refreshing swimming pool. We stayed in Unit C-303.This is an upper level loft two bedroom unit, which includes a full kitchen and spacious living area. There was a good view of the ocean and west Maui from the lanai. The only thing that would have been better: a longer stay.
