Kaanapali - Maui
WOOW....My husband and I went to Maui for our 25th wedding Anniversary. It was awesome.....We stayed at the Maui Eldorado, We had been upgraded to a 1 bedrm. partial oceanview. It was great, everything was so clean and well maintained. The view from the lanai was great-we got pictures of the sunset that looked like post cards. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We would most definately stay at the Eldorado again. The air smells like clean linen with a touch of lemon. The view of the coast line as we traveled around was most beautiful. You have the ocean and the mountains in one trip. The only thing that we should of done in advance was to rent a car. We planned to shuttle around most of the time which is fine, but for viewing the Island you need a car for at least a couple of days. Unless you use tours. Two Cruise ships came in that week and had already booked up the car rentals. We did get a car but we had to pay more for it because it was a Miata convertible, which worked out great, but pricey. WE would go back in a heart beat it was wonderful. |

Not the Ritz!
Well, here's the skinny on the Maui El Dorado...yes, it is an older resort condo. And yes, the grounds/buildings are due for some updating. But all in all-and for the great rates-it's a pretty nice place. The pools are nothing special and need some sort of shade. The "beach cabana" is a little disappointing and there isn't much of a beach below to sit on. But we thought our 1 bedroom unit was great-clean, spacious, quiet, well outfitted, etc. And the walk to Kaanapali beach (where all the action is) takes only ten minutes. If you are looking for a cheap condo near Kaanapali, this is a good bet. If you want luxury, stay at one of the big, expensive hotels on the beach. |
