The Perfect Place for Our Family
My wife and our little children recently stayed at the Kaanapali Shores. We felt that this property was the perfect place for our family. It is located a few minutes from the center of Kaanapali and Lahaina. We went there every day and enjoyed the beaches and shopping. We had our kids join the kids program at the Shores and they had a great time with the arts and crafts and the water sports. Our room was recently renovated and very comfortable for the four of us. The Kaanapali Shores was a very good choice for our family. |

Just Booked Our Vacation
After shopping a vacation for the 5 of us last minute, my husband and I figured this was the most for our money and at the same time luxurious. We compared it to Atlantis in the Bahamas, Beaches (all inclusive) and it turned out to be an 8 day vacation for about $5,000 for all of us. Our condo will provide the comforts of home for the kids with an ocean view. We plan on using the kitchen for breakfast meals and icy cold drinks and dine out. We plan on taking advantage of the kids programs, water sports, and take our rental along the road to Hana, the most picturesque drive in the world! I'll try to write when I get back. |

not worth the money
Resort was convenient to the beach, and had a beautiful garden area. Our group had two condos, one with an oceanfront view and one with a garden view. The view from the oceanfront condo was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for better. However, I could have asked not to wake up at 7 am, by drills and hammers pounding outside of the bedroom window. Even the sounds of the waves couldn't drown that noise out. The garden view room was cockroach infested, with at least one being killed daily, in addition to a few more spotted in the hallway. The restaurant had good food and an excellent staff. The front desk also had a friendly staff. The shops in the hotel, however, were a different story. Very grumpy unfriendly people will await you there. Parking is $9 a day, which is a little riduculous with the amount of money spent on the resort. The beach is long and beautiful, but narrow, with a sharp drop to the water. The water was the warmest we found around the island, though. Don't eat at Nachos across the street, unless you are prepared to order a second meal elsewhere. The food was terrible, however the cantina at Nachos has an extremely friendly staff. Overall, the resort was okay, but I would not stay there again. |

Condo run like a hotel...doesn't get much better
After doing some searching on the internet for days my I finally narrowed my decisions down to 3 places and I called Great Hawaii Vacations to see if they could help get it down to 1. When I spoke with my agent she said all were great properties but that I'd get the most "bang for my buck" at Kaanapali Shores and she was right. I took my girlfriend and adult daughter and we couldn't have picked a better place. The rooms have been nicely redecorated, although the bathrooms and kitchen are still outdated, they are exceptionally clean. The beach was great, but some days not suitable for swimming, which we don't anyway but laying out was wonderful listening to the waves. The saltwater pool is nice, you don't feel all dried out from the Chlorine. Plus, they have a restaurant and shops on site so it feels like a hotel! There is also a strip mall and ABC store within easy walking distance so you can stock your kitchen. All in all this is a great place for families. You can all do your own thing without having to constantly jump in the car, plus you get your privacy. I was also there during the earthquake and the staff was extremely prepared and very kind. It looked like another day at the office for them. I live in California so I was pretty laid back but you could see panic in some of the other guests faces. The staff eased their fears right away. I would absolutely stay there again and would recommend it for any family. |

Great Condo
We enjoyed our stay at the Kaanapali Shores. The staff was very pleasant and the condo had a very nice restaurant on property.
The beach was not the best but the pool was great and some wonderful beaches are very nearby. Thanks Daniel at Great Hawaii for recommending this to us. |

Great for the Whole Famile
My husband and two young children (4 and 7) just returned last night and are already planning our trip for next year - at the same resort. The staff was wonderful and really tried to accomodate our family (thanks, Nora, at the front desk). We traveled with a second family who arrived two days after our family and they got our rooms very close to each other which made it great for the kids to go back and forth. The grounds were immaculate and our room was recently upgrades and very comfortable. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful - will defiinately pack lighter next time. It was great that the kids could have lunch free with our lunch and that we had the option to eat out if we didn't want to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. We loved to eat in the room - saved us a lot of money.
We have been to Maui several times but this was our first time at this resort and were very happy with it. Only disappointment was that there are not a lot of rroms "right on the ocean", but many have a great view.
We would recommend this to any family - the kids pool was wonderful as was the pool on the ocean. Great grass area for throwing the football or running around while my husband and I played with them and relaxed in the sun. Great vacation...we will be back. |

Wonderful place to vacation
We loved the view we had from the condo. We saw whales from our
lanani and also while resting or walking on the beach. The live coral reef was very interesting. The island has much to offer. The staff was great and very helpful.

Loved my vacation
Loved it, loved it, loved it. This was our first real vacation and we couldn't have picked a better place. The washer and dryer and dishwasher in the rooms was very nice. The views were spectacular and the we loved the grounds. The staff was very friendly. We had a problem with noise because of renovations, but the staff solved the problem instantly. We would go back in a minute. We wish we were still there. |

Great Vacation
My husband and I went to Hawaii for our 1ST Anniversary....It was more than we thought it would be.....Our stay @ Kaanapali Shores was great we had an upgrade to a 2 bedroom oceanview....everything that we needed was in the Condo Room 927 and was like a home away from home.....the staff was very pleasant...the grounds were very clean.....We took in a Helicopter Ride (Blue Hawaiian Tours)...Road to Hana Tour (Valley Isle Excursions) and Old Lahaina Luau....If we ever have a chance to go back to Maui we would stay at Kaanapail Shores......Mahalo |

Our Hawaii Holiday
This resort is in a nice location - close to everything. It's nice to have a kitchen and there is a market right across the street. It has a nice pool and beach area with very basic facilities. If you go at a busy time of year, you need to get your lounges at the pool when it first opens up, otherwise there will not be any chairs available for you (people save them even though they're asked not to). The same goes with towels -- you may need to take them to your room and then exchange them for new ones when you see there are clean ones available. There are perk advertisements, but they have restrictions. |
