Paradise on Earth
My Husband and I were married and Honeymooned on the Island. Our visit was more than memorable and out stay at the resort took it over the top. I have traveled to many places and have seen a lot of beautiful resorts but the Marriot was definitely one of the most beautiful. When my husband and I arrived at the resort after our reception we were taken by the magnificence of the entrance and as we traveled down the escalator we were more amazed. Our suite was very elegant and our patio led straight to the beach. The people at the resort were very gracious and made us feel like we were home. We count the days when we will return to our second home!! |

It's About Time
This was a long overdue vacation for my wife and I. From the upgrade to a convertable at the airport to the ride down the escalator into the lobby at the Marriott, we were (I'm sorry) giddy! Our first night we ate at Dukes, (great food) walked in the surf after dark, and went swimming in the enormous pool before closing out the first day. The hosts were very helpful in planning our itinerary for our time there. My wife and I had great time and are looking forward to going back. |

A Garden Paradise
The weather was perfect all week, 75-85 F. Only 1 minute of rain the whole week at the resort but plenty in the mountains. The Kauai Marriott was immaculate and the staff wonderful. The only issue would be they need to replace their mattresses. The pool, beach, restaurants and opportunities were second to none. The cost of eating is a little outrageous at the hotel. $20-$40 per peron for buffets but they are very good. Must try the hula pie at Dukes. JJ's and the Mex in town were a poor choice. You can go to Tip Top in town for a local breakfast but we were disappointed. Hilo Hatis for souveniers was the same price as small stores. Wal Mart was the cheapest. There is an ABS store in town for groceries within walking distance. Definitely get a car and travel. The west coast is not much to see but the south, west and north are worth it. You can get a great car and rate at the hotel. The visit to the Marriott in PoiPu was nothing to speak of except the snorkling at PoiPu is very good. Across the street from the Marriott in PoiPu is a small plaza. Go in there for a Puka Dog, very good. Also a good place in there for a great hamburger. Since 80% of the island is mountains, take the helicopter ride. Well worth the money. Will definitely make a return trip. |
