Great Honeymoon Spot.

My husband and I stayed at the Westin for the last 5 nights of our honeymoon. We loved it! The rooms were so nice, from the Heavenly Bed to the oversized shower with dual shower heads, granite counter top, and jacuzzi tub. The pool was great too, and the grounds were well tended with lots of plants and flowers. Everyone (staff) was super friendly and professional. There is great snorkeling right off the beach by the hotel, and the staff at the towel/snorkel gear rental was very helpful in getting us set up with rentals and talking to us about what we saw. The poolside chairs are very comfy and you can have all the clean towels you want from the hotel for free. The resort is close to everything too, at least in West Maui. We would stay here again.
Tami, Spokane, WA

We Had A Great Time

Great room and wonderful in-room Jacuzzi. Food was only OK. There was small charge for everyday cleaning, which we requested and gladly paid. We enjoyed snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles on the shallow reef adjacent beach. We heard eerily beautiful whale songs when snorkeling. The whales were playing. On the windy days, Honolua Bay had perfect surf and Homoa beach was beautiful. Overall, we rate this resort high for excellent rooms, great beach and convenient location. However, there is room for improvement in housekeeping and services

Our Family Had A Truly GREAT Vacation

We recently went to the Westin for a five-day visit with our entire family. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The kids really loved the swimming pools. Personally, I loved the location and the beach. Also we were able to walk to Whalers Village which is right next door for a large variety of restaurants, shops and art galleries. The four of us had a truly relaxing and wonderful vaction. I cannot wait to go back....hopefully soon.
Tommy, Palo Alto, CA

Fantastic!

This is the finest resort ever built in West Maui. It's amazing and the villas are five star, off the charts. Beautiful beaches.
JB, Thousand Oaks, CA

Best vacation ever!

The Westin Maui was a beautiful place to vacation. The check in process was quick and simple. The grounds were lush and beautiful. Our room was updated with nice furniture and a beautiful view. I can't think of any place better to stay. I am a yearly return to Hawaii and would definitely refer all of my friends and family to go to the Westin Maui.
C. Ierardi, Burlington, MA

Disappointing

The service was good, the lobby floor lovely. After that it all fell apart. The rooms were adequate but very plain, generic and unattractive. The beach was basically unusable, very small. Plus even with a daily "resort fee" they wanted extra money to rent beach chairs and reservations for beach umbrellas. We clearly paid for that in the $25 a day resort fee. All we really got for that was parking, and a mezanine gym not much used. The restaurants and food were exhorbitant--$18 for a scanty cereal breakfast or $25 if you wanted actual food. Dinners ranged from above $30 to $45 per person. Nearby restaurants were also just about as expensive. Only option a food court next door at the upscale Whaler shopping center, where you could get mall food court sandwiches for around $10--and, oh wow, McDonald's. When I climbed down into one of the pools, my feet hit slime so hazardous on the bottom I climbed right back out. No night life at all. Everything emptied anywhere in the lobby area by 6 p.m. Just dead. Not for anyone under the age of 50 except the exhausted young couples who were there with their babies and strollers.
Kaye, Menifee, CA

we spent 5 wonderful days in Westin,it's an amazing place.Although the internet was down for last two days and there is daily charge of $25 no matter what,we still were happy, watching the pink flamingos and listening for the parrots saying"aloha".The food is very good, the sweaming pools are gorgeous, the ocean is right there-beautiful!we went to the rain forests(highly recommend this excursion!)wanted to go to see the volcanoes by private jet,but didn't expect to pay $433 per person.. There is no night life,so it's very relaxing:) I hope to come back there as soon as possible!!
natalia Kartashova, ,

My husband and I were in Paradise!!

From the moment we turned into the driveway at night with the beautiful lighting, through the lobby with the beautiful view and the sound of the waterfalls, and up in our room, my husband and I were amazed! The staff had the aloha spirit throughout the grounds of the hotel and the service was excellent. The bed was so comfortable in our room and the view (waterfalls) was great. The housekeeping ladies were so pleasant and very patient with us due to my husband's health condition. The food was great and the landscaping is so beautiful at times it was hard for me to leave the hotel for sightseeing because it provided so many things to do and just being there in this tropical environment is just heaven to me! I can't wait to bring the whole family back here and show them what a beautiful place this is. Thank you to all the hotel staff for making our one week stay the most memorable vacation we've had so far!
Chuck & Sa Singleton, Anchorage, AK

This Resort was wonderful from the start, we brought our children ages 12-14 and they were entertained the entire vacation. The many pools and waterslides were wonderful, plus being so close to the ocean and a mall within walking distance was fabulous. The staff were so incredible, they were extremely courteous and helpful. Unfortunately I became ill shortly into the trip and that's when the staff showed just how great they were. I was hospitalized for one night and when I got back I recieved a rose and card from some staff. They made me feel special and cared for. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Kavan from Great Hawaii Vacations made everything so easy, Thank you so much. We will definately be using them again to return to the Westin in Maui.
Susan Buzzell, Ellsworth, ME

Wonderful 25th Anniversary

We loved the Westin and would definitely stay here again. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary and could not have been happier. We have wonderful memories and wish we were still there. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was great. After walking along the path by the beach and looking at the near by hotels we were so happy we chose the Westin.
Laura, Bradenton, Florida

Best vacation ever!

My wife, 3 children and I went to the Westin Maui for our vacation this year. It was our first time visiting Maui and I must say that I was not disappointed. I thought the Westin Maui would be a great place to bring the family for the location, beaches, and Westin service. I was not unhappy at all when I received a complimentary upgrade! I had mentioned that it was my wife's birthday, not expecting anything, but Great Hawaii Vacations worked with their property contacts to have them take "special" care of us! What a fantastic way to start our vacation! The room was nice and clean with a fabulous view, the grounds were clean and kept and the pool was fantastic! Thank you!
Jason R., Yuma, AZ

My husband and I went to the Westin Maui for our 10th Annivesary. The views were breath-taking and the resort grounds were kept and beautiful. Thank you for referring us to a wonderful Anniversary spot. We'll return there for our 20th!

Best of both worlds!

My son and his wife had never been to Hawaii, and the four of us wanted to find a condo, but have access to resort amenities. We had looked into a few options, and one of your agents (Daniel) really helped us narrow them down. Ultimately, Daniel guided us to the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, and boy were we happy with the decision! Our 2-bedroom Ocean View condo was in the newer North Tower, and it worked out well. My wife wanted to take home the Westin Heavenly Bed! Most condos don't have restaurants, fancy pools, or access to fitness and spa facilities. The Westin Villas has all of it and more! We took advantage of the Shuttle to the Sheraton Maui, Westin Maui and Lahaina Town so we didn't have to drive everywhere. They had some great live entertainment during our stay, too! We wouldn't have had this experience in any other condo on Maui, and we were so happy with our stay that we had Daniel book our trip for next year already. Thank you again to Great Hawaii Vacations and to Daniel for making our stay so fun!
Kenneth F., Providence, RI

Absolutely Perfect Family Vacation!!!

My husband, two kids, and I stayed at the Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas a few weeks ago and couldn't have been happier. The rooms are BRAND NEW and they have a full kitchen so we didn't have to eat every meal out. With the kids, this was a huge money saver. The pools are incredible and perfect for children, and the property has everything you need. There are excellent restaurants and even a market where you can buy food to bring back to your unit. The beach out front was really great as well On top of that, we got a killer deal through Great Hawaii Vacations, which included a 3rd night free, free double upgrade, free breakfast for two every day, and a free midsize car. Thank you GHV! I will definitely recommend you guys in the future.

Best Vacation Ever!

Thank you Patti Taylor at Great Hawaii Vacations for helping me plan the best vacation ever for my family. The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas had something for everyone! We had a spacious condo with all the amenities of a resort! A fun pool for my toddler with a pirate ship .. which he still talks about. Wonderful restaurants right at the hotel! A complimentary shuttle to take us to Whalers Village and Lahaina Town. A beautiful golf course close by for my husband and an amazing spa for me! We cannot wait to come back!!
Samantha, Santa Monica, CA

Westin heavenly bed .....wanted to NEVER go home!

My stay at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas was the most fantastic stay and vacation ever. I really didn't want to go home. The Westin Heavenly bed was so comfortable and it's way better than my own! I wanted to "hide" it in my luggage lol. The staff is so wonderful and kind, the rooms are practically brand new. Thank you, Great Hawaii Vacations, for sending my family on the best vacation ever.
Ronald L., Asheville, NC

Amazing!

My wife and I just came back from honeymooning at this amazing hotel. Well, I guess technically it's a condo since we had a kitchen in our room, but it sure felt like a hotel/resort. The pool was great and we loved being so close to Whalers Shopping Village and Lahaina. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone.

The Hyatt Regency Maui is very special

Jane and I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui many times during our numerous trips to Maui. We also have stayed at the other Hyatt properties in Hawaii. We keep coming back the Hyatt Regency Maui because of the beautiful ambiance of the entire property. The gardens, pools, bird sanctuaries, shops are outstanding. We also like being near the Whaler Shopping Center for convenient dining and shopping. We are planning another trip next fall back again the to Hyatt Regency.
Paul, San Francisco, CA

We had a Great Time

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt in late Septembert. We totally loved the pool area and the quality of service. The pool area is fabulous - waterfalls/slides, caves, childrens area it really was great. No problems getting sunbeds at any time of the day. The gardens and animals were lovely. We loved to walk to Whalers Village for shopping and looking at some fantastic art galleries. We are already planning my next trip to the Hyatt.
Joe, Agoura Hills, CA

Awesome Vacation

My husband really wanted to go to Hawaii for our ten-year anniversary. We spent some time in Oahu but when we went to Maui, we stayed at the Hyatt and absolutely loved it. The pool area is great. The service was great. Nothing like sitting by the pool with fruity rum drink. The grounds are very nice with lots of gardens and animals, even penguins. There are a lot of activities. We did not have kids, but seemed like a great place for family vacations as well. We loved to watch the sunset from the beach area. The beach area is quite small, but you can walk always down to a little larger beach area. If you stay here, go to the Luau. It was nice and the food was very good. Restaurants are a little pricey but food was very good and service was exceptional. If we ever visit Hawaii again, we will definitely stay here.
Natalie, Coconut Creek, FL

25th Anniversary Get-Away

We had never experienced Hawaii before this trip. Our decision to stay at the Hyatt Regency on Maui for our 25th Anniversary was perfect. The room, shops, beach and swimming pools were unsurpassed. Being given a 10-day pass for complimentary breakfast at the absolutely magnificent indoor/outdoor restaurant with the terrific service and delicious foods was a treat we will never forget. The staff was so attentive, and helped us secure reservations for the helicopter ride, and scuba diving. A perfect 10!
Dennis Bayley, Castro Valley, CA

Major Wow!!

By far, this was the best vacation we have ever experienced. The Hyatt is so good at everything, that you can hardly believe the consistency in the service, grounds, shops, pool, food, convenience, etc.We loved the "beach", which consists of a lawn that buttresses the ocean with palm trees, recliners and beverage tables. You are as close to the ocean as you want to be, yet no sandy experience. (If you want sand, you can have it nearby.) We relaxed as we never have before. Can't imagine ever going anywhere else in Maui.
Mike O'Brien, Rowland Heights, CA

Quality/Location/Views/Fun - It's all here!

The Hyatt has the best pool area in Ka'anapali, great restaurants, and tons of activities. It was the perfect resort for our family. Plus, our deluxe ocean front room had a breathtaking view. Almost every evening you could find us on our lanai watching the sunset with a tasty cocktail in hand. Talk about paradise! One downside, the beach directly in front of the property is a bit smaller than the main parts of Ka'anapali Beach. However, this minor issue is easily remedied. If you follow the "beachwalk" no more than 3 minutes down, the beach transforms into an expansive stretch of sand and clear water. Plus, Whaler's Village and Black Rock are only a short walk away. Our entire family loved it so much that we vowed to return next year... See you there!
Brandon R., Los Feliz, CA

The Hyatt is So Beautiful!

We are very happy that Great Hawaii Vacations recommended the Hyatt on Kaanapali Beach. What wonderful views and superb service. The beach in front of the property is only good for wading but the pools are excellent. The service is also very good and we really liked the choices for restaurants that they have right at the Hyatt. Since I love to play golf, I also enjoyed the good championship-style courses across the street. Highly recommend this property to all my friends.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Maui and we loved it. Our view (deluxe oceanview) was amazing, the pools were great and the lobby is beautiful. The breakfast buffet is top notch, too. The balcony off our room was a little small, but eveyrthing else was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Jim, Bourne, MA

Wonderful property!

We visited the Hyatt Regency Maui in August not knowing what to expect; needless to say, we were very impressed! From the moment we walked into the open-air lobby and saw the fantastic decor, we knew that this vacation was going to be better than any we'd had before. The talking parrots were a special touch, as was the ability to dine just steps from our room while overlooking the ocean. The pool complex was very fun, and even in the middle of busy season, there were plenty of available lounge chairs. The room was excellently furnished, and the bed was especially comfortable. All-in-all, we really loved the Hyatt Regency Maui!

Great Hotel

I have been to Maui many times over the years. My stay at the Hyatt was amazing. The rooms are a little small but very comfortable. A little more light in the bathrooms would be good. The pool is amazing. The grounds are amazing. I like access to the board walk the runs along the beach. The breakfast buffet has got to be one of the best I have ever had. The staff was very nice an helpful. I would recommend the Hyatt and would definitely stay there again.

Great Pool Area....

I recently came back from the Hyatt Regency Maui. I wanted to share my thoughts on the hotel. First of all, the service was great. Secondly, the pool facilities were amazing. My kids had a great time. They never wanted to do anything else. My only negative comment is that the rooms can use some slight renovations. I understand that the Hyatt Maui will be undergoing some room upgrades in the near future. Once they do that, I'll be happy to be back.
Roy Hobbs, Charleston, SC

The Hyatt is awesome

Our family just got back from the Hyatt Regency Maui last week. It was a great experience. Money's been a bit tight this year, but we decided to splurge and take the vacation. We hadn't had a vacation in 5 years! Surprisingly, the cost of the trip wasn't as bad as we had thought. And, we had a great time. We were upgraded to a dlx oceanfront room in the Atrium building. It was a beautiful view. It's nice to spend the little bit of extra money to stay in a resort filled with great amenities. Our kids loved the pool area. It kept them very busy. Also, being walking distance to the Whaler's Shopping Village was very nice. We hope to be back in Maui soon.

A Great Time at the Hyatt Regency Maui!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a fun resort, and the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa didn't disappoint! The pools and bar were great. I especially enjoyed the swim-up Grotto Bar. We got to take our morning jog along the boardwalk, and enjoyed snorkeling at Black Rock. If you have a chance to come out to this hotel, it's a great spot. Just make sure to get a Deluxe Oceanview so you have a great view. Thank you for the great rates, Daniel! We'll be back again soon!
Randall G., Reno, NV

The Hyatt Maui was very nice

We were recommended to stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui by a friend of our's. It was a good recommendation on her end. Our family enjoyed the Hyatt Maui very much. The grounds were very nice and the pools were very good our kids. We also like the fact that it was on the main Kaanapali Boardwalk. We didn't have to drive anywhere. We hope to be returning back to the Hyatt Maui in the next few years.
Tom Brookings, Memphis, TN

Great stay!

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui was another great success! We love their pools, and you better bet that mommy loves to get pampered at the Anara Spa. We heard that the hotel is renovating their rooms, and we can't wait to get out there next year to see how they turned out. If you have a family or if you're a couple, you'll love the Hyatt Regency Maui! We'd like to give a big thank you to Great Hawaii Vacations for another great trip. We look forward to working with Daniel again real soon!
Kim D., New York, NY

Awesome Resort

This is one of my favorite hotels. The pools are great for all ages. The views are awesome the gardens are amazing and you can't ask for a better view from the deluxe ocean view category. You really must try the breakfast buffet, it is incredible. All the restaurants are very good and the service is great. This property is exceptional. I look forward to going back to the Hyatt for my next vacation.

We Had A Terrific Family Vacation at the Kaanapali Alii

Our family had a terrific vacation at the Kaanapali Alii this past fall. My wife, myself and our two daughters were looking for a beachfront two bedroom deluxe condo in Maui. We were recommended to the Kaanapali Alii. Our condo was exceptionally large and the furnishings reminded us of home. The people who work at the Kaanapali Alii definitely have Aloha spirit. We also enjoyed the location for our family. Our children could romp in the ocean while Margaret and myself could either hang out at the pool or have quiet time in our room. Also being right next door to the Whalers Shopping Village was a true blessing. The kids or the entire family could easily get a bite. I think my wife also like the upscale stores at the shopping center. You might want to stop in and see the fine art store located near the entrance of the shopping center on the right. They had beautiful sculpture and painting. We loved Maui and particularly the Kaanapali Alii.
Manuel, Denver, CO

Kaanapali Alii Was Perfect

My husband and I stayed at the Kaanapali Alii last December. It was the perfect spot for us. We had a one bedroom oceanview condo and loved the view, location and the beach. Henry got up every morning and had his breakfast on the lanai enjoying the ocean vistas. After a morning breakfast we walked long the boardwalk and went snorkeling at Black Rock. We even saw a few turtles. In the evenings we had many restaurants to choose from either in the various hotels that surround the Alii or in the Whaler Shopping Center. We went to Lahaina also and truly enjoyed the many quality stores. We also did activities with Barefoot Tours and saw the Warren and Annabell Magic Show. Don't miss it!

Outstanding Accomodations!

My family and I spent our first Hawaii vacation at the Ka-anapali Alii and we all agreed that when we go back to Maui we are definitely staying at the same resort again. We couldn't have dreamed of a better view, fantastic condo and fun activities. The condo was just like home. It was beautiful. The people at the resort were terrific and made us feel like royalty. A definite 5 Star rating!!! Thank you so much for the hospitality.
J. Blunck, Highlands Ranch, CO

What a great place.

My stay at the Kaanapali Alii was great. This was our first time staying at a condo resort. We liked it quite a bit. The units were incredibly spacious and the amenities were great. We stayed in a "premier" unit. Supposedly, these units have more upgraded amenities. We didn't get to check out the regular units, but from speaking to some of the people around the pool, they seem to have no issues with their units. Speaking of the pool, the Kaanapali Alii did a great job spending some money to upgrade the area. It was a pleasant surprise.
Sven Jones, San Francisco, Ca

The Kaanapali Alii is one of the best condos on Maui

Our family stayed at the Kaanapali Alii this past summer. We arrived at the front desk and they quickly checked us in. Our 1 bedroom oceanview unit was beautifully decorated and provided a very nice view of the ocean. We could tell that the owner of this condo had put some considerable thought and $$ into the condo. We enjoyed it quite a bit. We spent many days BBQing. It was great fun. I would highly recommend the Kaanapali Alii for those looking for high end accommodation on Kaanapali Beach.
Joshua Markson, Grand Rapids, MI

The Kaanapali Alii is awesome

We love all the recent improvements that the Kaanapali Alii made this year. The pool enhancements were great. We've been to the Alii on three separate occassions and each time we have not been disappointed. We always try to book the "premier" units at the Kaanapali Alii. They are simply some of the nicest units on Maui.
Craig Olson, Temple City, CA

Still the best condo on Kaanapali Beach

My wife and I love to stay at the Kaanapali Alii, and this time we wanted to treat her folks to a stay. Daniel set us up this year in one of the 2-Bedroom Oceanfront Premier units, which are the best condos in the house. Great views, gorgeous interiors, great new spa and fitness facilities...I couldn't ask for more. We've been going to the Kaanapali Alii for the last 6 years, and we've always had the best thanks to Daniel's hard work. We'll be looking forward to booking with him again for next Labor Day.
Richard L., Las Vegas, NV

My favorite getaway!

We are back from another great week on Maui. the Kaanapali Alii of course. Years ago Patti TTaylor at Great Hawaii Vacations told us about the Kaanapali Alii and we've been going every year since. And now with the new pool ... it's even better. If the "premier" unit is in the budget .. they are definetly worth the extra money. The standard units are still nice .... just not all the new fancy furnishings etc. You have Whalers Village next door and a beautiful sandy beach in front of you. Definetly heaven! thank you Great Hawaii Vacations for always taking good care of us!

Favorite Place to Visit!

We read a lot of bad reviews about the Royal Lahaina Resort after we had booked our trip and considered changing hotels. We were very glad we didn?t! The staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel could use some renovating (I heard it was going to happen soon). We stayed in a partial ocean view room and we loved it. The view was incredible. We had the breakfast in the morning, which I would definitely recommend! The beach was well maintained and absolutely stunning! The pool bar overlooking the ocean is a good place to relax and have a cool drink! I recommend a LAVA FLOW! Snorkeling is just a few steps away and it is incredible! You must visit the town of Lahaina. There is so much to see and do. The Banyan tree is one of them. If you like sport fishing, I would recommend the Kai Akua. It?s a beautiful boat! Bubba Gumps, Compadres (located in the Cannery mall), and Maui Tacos are a must to try! Over all, this was one of the best vacations ever and I will definitely return. I would recommend the Royal Lahaina Resort to anyone visiting Maui!

Nice place to stay for the price!

It was me and my partner's first time in Hawaii, and staying at the Royal Lahaina made our first visit a very happy and exciting one. Though it lacked the aesthetic and number of activities that the other hotels at Kaanapali had, it was still a fun place to stay. The staff was nice and accommodating. We were really impressed on how the hotel pretty much had the whole beach to itself. The other side of Kaanapali Beach was too crowded. Snorkeling was awesome, and the sand was soft. I recommend renting a cabana for the whole day and doing nothing but lay on the beach.

Perfect Honeymoon

We recently visited Maui and stayed at The Royal Lahaina for our honeymoon. We had a partial ocean view room which was lovely, and I would advise you to choose an ocean view room for an even better view. We took a trip to Lanai to see the dolphins and snorkle which was fantastic. We dined at The Waterfront, Longhi's and Bubba Shrimps all of which served wonderful food and had an excellent choice of menu (especially seafood). We also spent a fantastic evening at the Warren and Annabelle magic show!!! Definately would visit this wonderful island again. Lots to see and do....

Best Place Visited Yet

We had the best time ever, stayed at Royal Lahaina Resort, very nice ocean front cottage. Our son lives in Lahaina so he was our tour guide, driver, cabanna boy, knew all the good places to eat, it was wonderful. We will be going back and taking our daughter and son in law and their 2 kids with us next year. The whales were awesome, could not get enough of them, watched them from our cottage, they were quite close to shore, saw dolphins, and a seal came onto our beach. Took the Hana road trip, altogether we put 500 miles on rental car. Cannot wait to go back. There is a lot to do that doesn't cost alot so don't have to take the expensive tours unless you want to. The weather was perfect every day

Good Beach, Nice Rooms, GREAT TIME!

Many thanks to Daniel and the rest of the folks at Great Hawaii Vacations! We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort for the Labor Day weekend, and really enjoyed our stay. We had one of their Deluxe Ocean View rooms, and really liked the room better than what our friends had at the Sheraton nearby. They felt more modern, which my girlfriend loved. The beach was fantastic, the bar was great (Don the Beachcomber, I miss you already), and the staff was friendly. We were able to stroll down the beach to Black Rock for snorkeling or around the Sheraton to the boardwalk on Kaanapali Beach, which worked out okay. For a non-chain hotel, we were pretty happy with our stay. We're actually planning a trip with my brother and his girlfriend for next summer, and you better bet we're calling Daniel to make our reservations. He found us exactly what we like, and we'll be using him every time we come to Hawaii. Thanks again!

Great value

We were planning our vacation and wanted to stay within a certain budget, but still get a great room at a great hotel on a great beach. Our We looked at the Hyatt and Westin, but they were more than we wanted to spend. Our agent at Great Hawaii Vacations (Kavan) recommended we check out the Royal Lahaina. Great suggestion! He said the rooms were remodeled a few years ago and they really seemed modern and up to date. The beach was fantastic and much less crowded than the ones a little further down the coast on the Kaanapali Boardwalk. Thanks to Kavan for helping us find this little gem!

Fantstic Sister Trip

What a fabulous stay at the Royal Lahaina. Took my sister and enjoyed our first trip to Hawaii. Will definitely come back with my husband this fall! A very special Thanks to everyone at the hotel and restaurants there. The accommodations in the newly renovated tower are just what we expected from a 5 star hotel!!!Even flat screened TV and nice roomy shower! The views from our ocean front hotel room were unbelievably beautiful. We were bushed from the trip the first night and decided to eat in on the balcony in our room... Everyone in the restaurant made it so easy and accommodating. We sat and had a fabulous hawaiian concoction while visiting with patrons in the bar while waiting for our Seafood dinner to go!! Thanks so much for a dream come true vacation. The ambiance of the establishment made us feel we were enjoying what we had always believed a Hawaiian resort was suppose to look and feel like....Again, thanks and Aloha!!!....we will be back!!
Debby Verheyden, Emory, Texas

Wow! The best place I have ever visited!

My girlfriend and I were just amazed at the sites we stumbled across in Maui, the royal lahaina was one of them. We stayed in one of the cottages and they were nice enough, though we didn't spend much time indoors. We were told they were being renovated not long after we left and they look to be much nicer. We can't wait to go back. The snorkling was great, and if you get the chance I highly recommend the Basil Tomatoe Restaurant, we ate there three out of the eight nights we were there.
Brett Babin, New Orleans, La

Wonderful Experience

My sister and I visited the Royal Lahaina Resort in January. It was a most rewarding experience. The views were beautiful and the staff was very accommodating. It was in the midst of the when the whales return to Hawaii and we saw whales from the restaurant and from the property. We stayed in the cottages, which was fabulous. We chose to stay a cottage with a garden view which worked out well. If you are looking to stay at a nice place, consider the Royal Lahaina Resort. There is a wonderful restaurant on the property, Basil Tomato.
Rosemary Horvath, Maple Heights, OH

Best Hawai'ian homeymoon we could ask for!

We just arrived home from our honeymoon and boy are we sad! The Royal Lahaina Resort was so beautiful! The staff was more than accomodating! I will strongly suggest the Royal Lahaina to anyone who may be considering!
Amanda, Peninsula, OH

Wonderful

After reserving a room in the older cottages, we were upgraded to the newly remodeled tower. It was simply beautiful -- lovely and modern dark wood furnishings, exceptionally linens and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever used. We were given a partial view of the ocean and the mountains, which I thought was the best of both worlds. The service was consistently friendly and thoughtful. If we stay in this area again, which is very tourist focused, I look forward to staying again.
Ellen, Albuquerque, NM

UNFORGETTABLE

MY HUSBAND AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ROYAL LAHAINA. THE ROOM WAS NOT THE GREATEST, BUT THAT DID NOT MATTER. EVERYTHING ABOUT MAUI AND THE ROYAL LAHAINA MADE OUR STAY ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE. THE BREAKFAST WAS AWESOME TO SAY THE LEAST. WE ATE BREAKFAST LOOKING OUT OVER THE OCEAN ALMOST EVER MORNING-IT WAS BREATH TAKING. IT WAS A VERY ROMANTIC ENVIRONMENT. I WILL NEVER FORGET MY HONEYMOON THERE. I CAN NOT WAIT TO GO BACK AND GOING BACK TO THE ROYAL LAHAINA IS A MUST.
AMANDA , BELLA VISTA, AR

Unforgettable Honeymoon!

We recently visited maui for our honeymoon and stayed at the Royal Lahiana Resort. It was wonderful. We stayed in an ocean view room which was just an amazing view. The service was great. They just did anything to please you. We snorkeled which was a lot of fun and the Helicopter ride is a must cause you can just see so much more from the sky. Beautiful waterfalls. We drove the road to Hana, that was a trip. Just be prepared to drive all day. It was really worth it cause you just see the most beautiful waterfalls and plants. There wasn't anything that we was disappointed in. We would definately come back.

Beautiful Vacation!

This resort was very nice. It had 2 pools that we used and one had an ocean view with their little tiki bar. You could also book activities for the day if you needed the day before which was very convenient. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning, it was expensive but convenient. We went to a local supermarket to purchase beer when we first got there and I am glad we did because it is $6 a corona at the hotel. I recommend the cabanas for rent because the Maui sun is hot! We had a lovely view from our hotel room and the staff was very accommodating. We also did the hotel’s luau and we enjoyed that very much, especially if you like tropical drinks. The location was great it seemed we hardly had to drive anywhere because everything we needed was pretty much at the resort. I highly recommend this hotel!

MOST WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY EVER

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the beautiful Royal Lahina Resort. The newly and tastefully redocorated room overlooking a gorgeous private beach along with all the smiling courteous and oh so helpful staff just added the extra comfort and relaxation we were looking for. At the same time we were just a few convenient moments away from everything we were hoping to do. We were even able to attend an exciting lu'au right at the resort! Most every night found us at the poolside where we were able to enjoy drinks while experiencing the wonderful musical entertainment and Polynesian dancing.Wahina and Josh were probably one of the highlights of our vacation. We can't wait to come back , and won"t stay any place else.I am already missing their fabulous breakfast buffets. I wonder if they"ll deliver?

AMAZING REMODEL

Great Hawaii Vacations definitely exceeding my expectations on this property. When I first booked this property i was told that it had gone through a multi million dollar renovation and thought it would be nice but nice cannot even begin to describe what an amazing job they did at this property. The beach quality was excellent and a great way to start my day off with some great snorkeling/swimming.I stayed in an Ocean Front Room which was upgraded upon my arrival and cannot begin to tell you how close it seemed we were to the full oceanfront view. Thank you GHV for your excellent service and you will be hearing from all of my friends and family for our next trip back soon!!! Lauren (Southern California)

Rooms were very nice

We originally booked one of the cottages at the Royal Lahaina against the advice of one of the agents at Great Hawaii Vacations. We should have listened. We were quite unhappy initially. However, we were moved to the hotel rooms a day later and were very happy with the accommodations. As long as you stay away from the cottages, you should be fine. We'll definitely return.
John Decker, Oxnard, CA

Beautiful and relaxing vacation

Our first trip to Hawaii was wonderful. Ocean front Royal Lahaina Tower was the absolute best! It was February and to our surprise, whale season! What a great show from our balcony, restuarant, beach or where ever we were during the daylight hours. Not to mention the unbelievable sunsets!!! The nightly music at the outside bar area could also be heard from our balcony, our own private entertainment. Beautiful large room, ocean side was totally glass sliding doors. Lovely, lovely! I would go back today if I had the chance!

My husband and I stayed at the Whaler from June 6-13th, 2004. We had never been to Maui and used TripAdvisor and the Maui Revealed book (must buy if you are going to Maui) to plan our vacation. The Whaler was a great place to stay. When we checked in we were upgraded from a studio oceanview to a 1 bedroom suite for free! We felt like we needed to call our friends and tell them to pack up and come and join us because there was so much room in the suite. Two couples could EASILY stay in the one bedroom suite. While there we had excellent service from all the staff and security was remarkable. The maid service was great, the entire facility is very clean and well kept. True, it does not have the great pool area like the surrounding hotels, but all you have to do is walk next door to have the elaborate pool area. Honestly, we thought we would miss the huge pool area and being pampered, but we did not at all. It was nice to be in a quiet area and left alone. The location is great. There are so many places to eat (Leilahni's was our favorite). The grill area at the Whaler is great if you want to cook (go to the fish market and get seasoned fresh fish to throw on the grill). The kitchen had everything we needed, except seasoning. The first day we were there we went to Walmart (by the airport) to buy groceries, it was not worth it. Go to the Safeway in Lahaina (get a Safeway card for free and save tons of money). I could go on, but I think you get the idea- The Whaler was nice, well located, clean, great staff- we will stay there again on our next trip!

AMAZING VACATION!!!!!

This was our first time at The Whaler and we were not dissapointed! Our room was very spacious, the bed was so comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The location of The Whaler is perfect. We had 2 teenagers with us and Whaler's Village gave them a place to meet other kids and have something to do in the evening. The pool staff was wonderful, they did such a great job setting up our chairs for the day and making sure we were comfortable. This beach is amazing and we spent about 8 hours a day on it! I would recommend this property to all my friends, it exceded my expectations!

The Perfect Place for Our Family

My wife and our little children recently stayed at the Kaanapali Shores. We felt that this property was the perfect place for our family. It is located a few minutes from the center of Kaanapali and Lahaina. We went there every day and enjoyed the beaches and shopping. We had our kids join the kids program at the Shores and they had a great time with the arts and crafts and the water sports. Our room was recently renovated and very comfortable for the four of us. The Kaanapali Shores was a very good choice for our family.

Just Booked Our Vacation

After shopping a vacation for the 5 of us last minute, my husband and I figured this was the most for our money and at the same time luxurious. We compared it to Atlantis in the Bahamas, Beaches (all inclusive) and it turned out to be an 8 day vacation for about $5,000 for all of us. Our condo will provide the comforts of home for the kids with an ocean view. We plan on using the kitchen for breakfast meals and icy cold drinks and dine out. We plan on taking advantage of the kids programs, water sports, and take our rental along the road to Hana, the most picturesque drive in the world! I'll try to write when I get back.

not worth the money

Resort was convenient to the beach, and had a beautiful garden area. Our group had two condos, one with an oceanfront view and one with a garden view. The view from the oceanfront condo was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for better. However, I could have asked not to woke up at 7 am, by drills and hammers pounding outside of the bedroom window. Even the sounds of the waves couldn't drown that noise out. The garden view room was cockroach infested, with at least one being killed daily, in addition to a few more spotted in the hallway. The restaurant had good food and an excellent staff. The front desk also had a friendly staff. The shops in the hotel, however, were a different story. Very grumpy unfriendly people will await you there. Parking is $9 a day, which is a little riduculous with the amount of money spent on the resort. The beach is long and beautiful, but narrow, with a sharp drop to the water. The water was the warmest we found around the island, though. Don't eat at Nachos across the street, unless you are prepared to order a second meal elsewhere. The food was terrible, however the cantina at Nachos has an extremely friendly staff. Overall, the resort was okay, but I would not stay there again.

Condo run like a hotel...doesn't get much better

After doing some searching on the internet for days my I finally narrowed my decisions down to 3 places and I called Great Hawaii Vacations to see if they could help get it down to 1. When I spoke with my agent she said all were great properties but that I'd get the most "bang for my buck" at Kaanapali Shores and she was right. I took my girlfriend and adult daughter and we couldn't have picked a better place. The rooms have been nicely redecorated, although the bathrooms and kitchen are still outdated, they are exceptionally clean. The beach was great, but some days not suitable for swimming, which we don't anyway but laying out was wonderful listening to the waves. The saltwater pool is nice, you don't feel all dried out from the Chlorine. Plus, they have a restaurant and shops on site so it feels like a hotel! There is also a strip mall and ABC store within easy walking distance so you can stock your kitchen. All in all this is a great place for families. You can all do your own thing without having to constantly jump in the car, plus you get your privacy. I was also there during the earthquake and the staff was extremely prepared and very kind. It looked like another day at the office for them. I live in California so I was pretty laid back but you could see panic in some of the other guests faces. The staff eased their fears right away. I would absolutely stay there again and would recommend it for any family.

Great Condo

We enjoyed our stay at the Kaanapali Shores. The staff was very pleasant and the condo had a very nice restaurant on property. The beach was not the best but the pool was great and some wonderful beaches are very nearby. Thanks Daniel at Great Hawaii for recommending this to us.

Great for the Whole Famile

My husband and two young children (4 and 7) just returned last night and are already planning our trip for next year - at the same resort. The staff was wonderful and really tried to accomodate our family (thanks, Nora, at the front desk). We traveled with a second family who arrived two days after our family and they got our rooms very close to each other which made it great for the kids to go back and forth. The grounds were immaculate and our room was recently upgrades and very comfortable. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful - will defiinately pack lighter next time. It was great that the kids could have lunch free with our lunch and that we had the option to eat out if we didn't want to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. We loved to eat in the room - saved us a lot of money. We have been to Maui several times but this was our first time at this resort and were very happy with it. Only disappointment was that there are not a lot of rroms "right on the ocean", but many have a great view. We would recommend this to any family - the kids pool was wonderful as was the pool on the ocean. Great grass area for throwing the football or running around while my husband and I played with them and relaxed in the sun. Great vacation...we will be back.

Wonderful place to vacation

We loved the view we had from the condo. We saw whales from our lanani and also while resting or walking on the beach. The live coral reef was very interesting. The island has much to offer. The staff was great and very helpful.

Loved my vacation

Loved it, loved it, loved it. This was our first real vacation and we couldn't have picked a better place. The washer and dryer and dishwasher in the rooms was very nice. The views were spectacular and the we loved the grounds. The staff was very friendly. We had a problem with noice because of renovations, but the staff solved the problem instantly. We would go back in a minute. We wish we were still there.

Great Vacation

My husband and I went to Hawaii for our 1ST Anniversary....It was more than we thought it would be.....Our stay @ Kaanapali Shores was great we had an upgrade to a 2 bedroom oceanview....everything that we needed was in the Condo Room 927 and was like a home away from home.....the staff was very pleasant...the grounds were very clean.....We took in a Helicopter Ride (Blue Hawaiian Tours)...Road to Hana Tour (Valley Isle Excursions) and Old Lahaina Luau....If we ever have a chance to go back to Maui we would stay at Kaanapail Shores......Mahalo

Our Hawaii Holiday

This resort is in a nice location - close to everything. It's nice to have a kitchen and there is a market right across the street. It has a nice pool and beach area with very basic facilities. If you go at a busy time of year, you need to get your lounges at the pool when it first opens up, otherwise there will not be any chairs available for you (people save them even though they're asked not to). The same goes with towels -- you may need to take them to your room and then exchange them for new ones when you see there are clean ones available. There are perk advertisements, but they have restrictions.

best value on kaanapali beach

We were very happy with our stay at Kaaanapli Shores. Convenient to Whalers Village and Lahaina Town. Nice ocean front pool and we were able to swim right out in front of Kaanapali Shores. I was told the beach quality can vary ... we were very lucky! Spacious condo and a great view. I would highly recommend the Aston Kaanapali Shores!

Aston Kaanapali Shores was a good find

We found the Aston Kaanapali Shores after many weeks of searching on the internet. We went through TripAdvisor and found Great Hawaii Vacations. They did a good job of suggesting this condo. The accomodations were very good for my family. It was like a home away from home type of vacation. The staff was also very kind when we needed assistance.
Brian Kemp, Calabasas, CA

A home away from home

I loved my stay at Aston Kaanapali Shores. I'm a busy mom who never has time to get away so this was like having the comforts of home WHILE being on vacation! Having a washer and dryer in the room was convenient and there was a fully equipped kitchen. I saved a lot of money by cooking in the room and I packed lighter than I normally would because of the washer and dryer. This was the most convenient place our family has ever stayed in.

Dream Wedding

Our entire family stayed here for our daughters wedding. Everyone was extremely happy. The rooms are beautiful and the staff was very accomodating! We have stayed here before and really like it. The beach is a little windy in the spring but everything else makes it worth it. The restaurant is very good and very nice place to have any meal!

Amazing Resort!

My husband and i just got back from a week Honeymoon at this hotel and it was perfect. The beach was right off the resort. On our first morning there they gave a very helpful orientation for all the things to do on the island. They included complimentary breakfast and we won a day at the cabana at the pool! We had a beautiful view from our room and it was so welcoming and gave you a home like feeling. The restaurant on the resort was delicious! What stuck out the most to us was the staff that went above and beyond! We did not have one bad experience with a staff member. Our Concierge PJ was the most helpful, he reffered us to many restaurants and places to go. Our honeymmon could not have been more perfect.

Fabulous for a Family

Our familyof four, including two college ages boys recently stayed at the hotel. Initially I was worried the place would be too crowded at the pool ect. No wories. This trip to Maui, we needed a little more space. The staff at the front desk gave us an upgrade to an ocean view suite on 8th floor. This place was amazing. It had a fantastic deck that overlooked the ocean. We spent many hours whale watching, dining and sunning. The place inside had granite countertops and 4 sets of patio doors with ocean views. WE had plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. I felt relaxed and comfortable.

Best week of our lives!

I heard that Hawaii was special but I had no idea how terrific it really is. My wife and I spent our 15 anniversary at the Sheraton Maui. We had a ocean view suite that had a spectacular view of the water. We especially enjoyed the location and the grounds of the Sheraton. The Sheraton is located right next to Black Rock which is the quieter part of Kaanapali. Also Black Rock is a great place for snorkeling. Each day we would rise and walk along the boardwalk to the Whaler Shopping Center for breakfast. What a great way to start the day. We are already planning our 25th anniversary back at the Sheraton.

AWESOME VACATION!!

We just returned from 8 glorious days in Maui. We absolutely loved the Sheraton. We were upgraded to an deluxe ocean view room. Everything we had hoped for happened. I couldn't believe how smoothly all was. The people at the Sheraton are very nice. We were traveling with our four kids, ages 11, 9, 7 and 5. Also, my in-laws were with us. The staff seemed extremely patient with all kids. Since everything is very open, birds were frequent visitors during breakfast. The kids loved tossing them bread and were never once fussed at. Oh, by the way, the breakfast buffet was great. It was a full breakfast with eggs, bacon, a chef making omlettes with a huge variety of fixings! Tons of food: breads, fruits, cereals. The apples wrapped in pancakes was yummy! They alternated that with french toast which my son loved. The beach is beautiful and so was the view. We loved being so close to Lahaina. If I had to complain, it would be that no one, including the manager seemed to know where kids ate free. We found that a little frustrating since they really boast that kids 12 and under eat free. We were told it was at the Japanese restaurant only to find out later (after dinner) that that was not true. Finally, we learned that Keke's Terrace, the main dining room, is the only location at the Sheraton where kids actually eat free. There was a restaurant at the Kapalua Beach Hotel where the kids could eat free. Oh, the Japanese restaurant wasn't that great. The chef was awesome, he put on a great show for the kids and was really funny. However, he was having to run all over the place as our waiter, also. We felt sorry for him. The food was okay. We loved the stay and play at all four starwood resorts feature. We did visit the Westin to go on there big slide. It was fun but we did like the Sheraton pool better. The Sheraton pool was awesome. We felt really comfortable letting our two older boys float around and explore all over the pool. Our daughters loved the small slide that was in our pool. The first day we were there, we headed to the beach. Great beach!! The kids loved playing in the sand. Bring your own sand toys from home. They are way too expensive at the resorts ($10.00 for a bucket, 3 shovels, a small rake and about 5 molds). We passed on purchasing it at the resort. We did rent boogie boards and life jackets for the girls. It is really deep snorkeling at Black Rock. It was also pretty rought that day. Big, powerful waves. Once, you passed them thought it was good snorkeling. Everything was expensive. We went to Long's Pharmacy and bought inflatable life jackets, an intertube and a noodle. The kids loved the intertube!! Pack one from home, along with inflatable life jackets. We couldn't find sand toys at the stores. We ended up purchasing them at The Kapalua resort for $8.00. Cheaper then the Sheraton. We went to the Maui Dive shop in the Lahania Cannery Mall and rented a boogie board for the week and a vewing boogie board for our littlest. She loved it. We also snorkeled at Honolua Bay and Kapalua Bay. Kapalua was the best. You just take two steps anywhere and fall in and fish are everywhere. Lots of differnt kinds. It was awesome.

Let down

Unfortunately this time, we were unhappy with the Sheraton Maui. Let me tell you why. First, our room was pretty much on the neighboring neighbor’s property. Should have just stayed there. Secondly, the room service we received was average at best. But most important, the guests staying right next to us were smokers; I am allergic to smoke and in return, made it hard to sit on our lanai. The first time we stayed there, the room was great as was everything else, this time, it was not even average. Very, very disappointed.
Shelley Patton, Patterson, CA

Best snorkel hotel

If you love snorkeling this is the place to stay. Since it sits right on Black Rock you have some of the best snorkeling on Maui just a few steps away from your room. The location is great too since it's right on the kaanapali boardwalk. Pool area is ok, but we came more for the beach and snorkeling. Rooms are nice.
Rich, San Diego, CA

Great first time to Hawaii!

My family of three just came back from our first trip to Maui, and we really loved our stay at the Sheraton Maui. We booked an Oceanfront room, and we were pleased with the accommodations. The beds were comfy, the view was great, and they took great care of the room. It had a more relaxed feel than the Westin and Hyatt, which we were really after. The beach was so nice, and the snorkeling right there at Black Rock was fun for everyone. My wife and daughter both got their spa treatments while I got my workouts in. The Sheraton Maui really made for a nice, relaxing place to stay, and I'm ready to go back! I do have to say that our agent, Daniel, was really great to work with. He really steered us in the right direction. We will be happy to book with him next summer.
Trent P., Pittsburgh, PA

What a view

We booked the Sheraton Maui for our 25th anniversary. For the most part, we were not disappointed. The location is just perfect. We had a dlx oceanfront room right on the point. It was a fantastic view. The pool area compared to some of the other hotels in the area like the Westin and the Hyatt was only so-so, but we sort of knew that going in. Other than than, it was a great stay. Hope to be going back to Maui next year.

Highly Recommended!

We had a 2 bedroom (2 bath) condo at this resort, overlooking the Golf Course and just a short drive from central Kaanapali , Lahaina and beaches for under $200 a night!!! We had 4 adults and found our unit to be very roomy, nicely appointed and the staff was very friendly. This is such a great property with all the resort amenities that condo complex's usually don't offer. I highly recommend this property for large groups, families or avid golfers!

Excellent Condo at a Great Price

I took my son and some of his friends to Kaanapali Royal for his birthday and we had a blast. With a group of boys I did not want to be cramped into a hotel room and at the Kaanapali Royal we definitely had more than enough room. The condo was a huge 2 story 2 bedroom 2 bath unit and it came with the added bonus of having a fridge which came in handy with 3 hungry boys. Our room overlooked the golf course and we were a short walk to the beach just across the street. Whalers Village was a short 5-10 minute walk from our condo, which was nice because that allowed me to do some shopping while the boys went to the beach. We all had a fabulous time at the Kaanapali Royal and if you're looking to stay in a condo on Maui I would say that this definitely has to be on your list!
