Best Hotel

Oahu is a great Island, but what made it even better was staying at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Everyone there made you feel so special. They went out of there way to make sure you had a wonderful stay. I will never stay any where else when vacationing in Oahu.
Biana Coleman, Beaverton, OR

Casual Elegance

From the moment the Royal Hawaiian comes into view, a sense of calm sweeps over one, and a feeling of well being pervades the senses. You are welcomed by staff as if you are returning royalty who has been truly missed. The accommodations and appointments enhance the feeling of sinking into a world that is plush and safe and eternal. Here you can disappear from the stresses of everyday life. You can find harmony and a sense of peace at the Royal Hawaiian, while you are surrounded by the elegance of design and amenities that are rarely found in today?s world.

Favorite Place on Earth

Whenever the stress of life catches up with us ... we can close our eyes and picture ourselves walking down that "Pink Breezeway" (as our 12 year old daughter refers to it) just off the lobby at the Royal Hawaiian. Besides the beauty of the hotel, the warm, welcoming, friendliness of the staff at the Royal Hawaiian; walking towards beach, and seeing that 'Royal' blue surf sparkling at the end of the breezeway is truly an awesome thing. What a calming memory for all of us ... to be able to just imagine that breeze stirring through the open air lobby, and taking in the sweet aroma of the beautiful and fresh flowers that abound inside; as we walk out towards our pink lounge chairs on the stunning Waikiki Beach. We look forward, with great anticipation, to our "Fourth Annual" stay at the Royal Hawaiian in just a few weeks from now. We would like to say "Mahalo" to 'Dad' for indulging his 3 girls with their yearly stay at their favorite "Pink Palace". Truly our favorite place for our family to enjoy
Mace Family, Cumming, GA

We loved the Royal Hawaiian!!

Our vacation at the Royal Hawaiian was a definitely full of surprises. Our agent was very good at describing the charms of this historic hotel, but seeing is believing. When you first see the Royal Hawaiian, in all of it's "pink glory" set right in the middle of the busiest city on Oahu, you get just a sense of what Hawaii once was. But when you pull up in the driveway, the city just disappears behind the tall palms and beautiful gardens. Then you are welcomed by a most enthusiastic hotel staff and presented with beautiful orchid leis. The rooms are large and comfortable and furnished in elegant Old World European style. There is a walk-in closet and plenty of drawer space, so unpacking was a breeze. They also provide terry-cloth slippers and big, fluffy pink bathrobes. The decor is so inviting and comfortaqble, you don't want to leave, but the grounds are so beautiful you just have to get out and stroll. . We really enjoyed our evenings at the Mai Tai Bar, watching the sunsets and listening to the live entertainment. The bartenders are entertaing plus they make a lethal Mai Tai! The Royal Hawaiian is centrally located in downtown Waikiki, and during the day it is fun to join the "hustle and bustle" of big city life, but it was most rewarding to return at night to our special old-world hideaway. Thank you very much for steering us to this hidden treasure. We will most assuredly return.

Went to the Waikiki Beach Marriott as a getaway. I live in a small town that is not close to anything. Waikiki Beach Marriott was in a great location as it was so close to everything yet the property was peaceful and quiet. The staff was very professional and efficient. My room was perfect and I slept better than I have in years on the bed! I will go back as soon as I can!

Outrigger Reef Offered A Good Value

We stayed 2 nights at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach and it offered my husband and myself a very good value. We were looking for a beachfront hotel in Waikiki that was affordable. Our room was recently renovated and we enjoyed the "self cooking" restaurant downstairs.
Gina, Sacramento, CA

Great Vacation Spot

Our stay at the Outrigger Reef On The Beach was great. The hotel staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time in Waikiki, a great vacation spot. We will love to return sometime in the future.

The Best Place I Have Ever Been

So much fun!

Outrigger Reef was perfect! We could only get away for 5 days .. so we wanted to keep it simple. We called Patti Taylor at Great Hawaii Vacations, she had planned a beautiful honeymoon for us, so we knew we could trust her with this little anniversary getaway. Our room was beautiful! We walked down the beach and caught a catamaran ride, walked to our surf lesson, worked out at the hotel's fitness center every morning and then enjoyed a wonderful ocean front breakfast .. right at the hotel. We even renewed our wedding vows on the beach.. vow renewal is complimentary to guests of the Outrigger Reef. Thank you Great Hawaii Vacations for another wonderful trip!

Great Vacation

We just got back from a glorious Vacation, It Was our First Trip to Hawaii. The hotel was all we could ask for, except that, the Pool area was being reconstructed, and we had to use the pool at another hotel within walking distance. this was a little inconvienant. But the service was great, Hotel staff was very helpful, and friendly. The restaurants, and on site shops were 1st rate. They had every thing you could possibly need. The Shorebird, was very enjoyable, Breakfast and Lunch Buffets, and then Dinner was fun, you Grilled your own Main course. (they were there to assist if you needed it.) Activities availble on site, or they helped plan your day , if you needed help. I have already reccomended this hotel to all my co-workers and friends, I even talked to our Travel agent and told her she really needed to reccoment this hotel. She did a wonderful job, helping us with our whole vacation. I will definately go back agian. Soon, I hope!!!!
Pam Hartsfield, Burlison, TN

What a view! What a peaceful vacation!

I am so glad my husband and I booked this newly renovated property, and I am so glad that I chose the oceanfront view! Falling asleep at night to the melody of the ocean, waking to swaying palms trees and the expansive Pacific made us feel that we were in some constant dream-like state. Our room felt like a second home, with its spacious floor plan, ample drawer and closet space, tasteful decor...and even a refrigerator and coffee maker! The beach at this end of Waikiki is especially calm and restful. I understand a new restaurant will be opening soon so that is another reason we have to rebook this property for our next vacation.
Barbara Karlton, Redondo Beach, CA

Nice Place to lob after a cruise

We had just completed a 17 day cruise from Australia and got off thye ship really quickly and our room was ready for us at 9am which was fantastic as we where unpacked and on the Beach by 10.... This hotel is close to all the action but still has a good pool and spa area. Better hotel than Outrigger on the Beachwhich a number of fellow Aussies stayed so we were able to compare. Great free activities such as lei making, card making and hula dancing which the family loved. Grab a feed of chicken ssatays at the pool...sensational. So close to so many great places to eat...grab some shaved ice it is amazing stuff. Only spent 4 days but will visit again and the Reef was good enough for u to try again real soon... Waikiki ..." Vegas meets the Gold Coast Head On "...so crass and glitzy it is fantasic. Outrigger Reef ...thanks very much.
Ross Laurenson, Melbourne ,

Great Find

We were deciding between a few different hotels in Waikiki when Kavan (our agent at Great Hawaii Vacations) recommended the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. Are we glad he did! Apparently they finished a pretty major renovation not too long ago and it shows. The rooms were amazing. The beach is reef protected (hence the name) so the swimming was great right in front of the hotel. Plus The Shorebird quickly became one of our favorite restaurants. We'll definitely be coming back. Thanks to Kavan for the great recommendation.
Rick, Santa Cruz, CA

Even better than before!

I stay at the Outrigger Reef every year! the rooms are beautiful after the recent rennovations.. Easy walk to the Waikiki Beach Wallk. Love having breakfast beachfront at the hotels restaurant, Shore Bird!

What a classy place

We were wondering whether to stay at the Royal Hawaiian or the Sheraton Moana. I think my wife would agree that we made the right decision. We stayed in an oceanfront room that faced out towards Diamond. It was simply beautiful. I cannot tell you how nice it is to wake up in the morning to such a gorgeous view. It was great. The hotel is a bit older than some of the other hotels in the area, but we enjoyed it very much. If we ever get a chance to get to Hawaii again, I am sure we will be coming back to the Moana.
OP, Oklahoma City, OK

Nice Place to Vacation

My husband and I stayed in Oahu for a few days during our ten-year anniversary. We like the Sheraton because it had a lot of history. The room we stayed in was small (we stayed in the original building), but we like the oldness of it. The windows were arched and you could open them and look out at the beach. The service was very good. We did not stay at the hotel much (a lot of sightseeing), but did spend an afternoon at the poolside bar, and really enjoyed it. The only negative thing about our stay was we had a bathroom window - which was only covered by a sheer curtain. The people in the next tower could easily see in to the bathroom - we had to use a towel to cover the window. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay.
Natalie, Coconut Creek, FL

Charming hotel

I really enjoyed my stay at the Moana Surfrider. This hotel really took me back in time with its elegant architecture. The open air lobby is inviting and there is this magical Banyan Tree in the courtyard. The staff was friendly and professional .. with so much Aloha Spirit. There is a great poolside bar and the Moana is on the best part of Waikiki Beach. The sand was so soft! For a unique experience you must enjoy the Moana's traditional afternoon tea!

Amazing

My wife and I honeymooned in Hawaii 30 years ago. When we were there we walked by this magnificent, old hotel on the beach andpromised ourselves we'd make it back one day and stay there. Well, 30 years later we finally made it back and our stay at the Moana Surfrider surpassed our wildest dreams. The rooms we amazing, managing to keep their nostalgic feel without seeming old and dated. The beach was pristine, the restaurants top notch and the location can't be beat. Even though it took us 30 years to make it back we're hoping our next trip will be much shorter than that. What a place...
Jim Murphy, Buzzards Bay, MA

Charming hotel

I loved the charm of the Moana. Enjoyed their traditional afternoon tea .... mai tais at Sunset and watching the catamarans go out in the morning. the Saff was friendly and the rooms very clean! Would hightly recommend!

The Classy First Lady of Waikiki...Still Great!

My wife and I have stayed at the Moana Surfrider almost a dozen times over the past 20 years. We can't say enough about how nice this hotel is, especially now that it has been running under the Westin banner. The rooms exude charm and elegance, something you only find in a few places across the Hawaiian Islands. If you are looking for the quintessential Hawaiian classic, look no further than the Moana Surfrider. You'll love it!

Perfect for our Honeymoon

We spent the first week of our honeymoon at the Kahala Hotel & Resort last November. After that we went to the Hyatt Regency Kauai. We really enjoyed the Kahala Hotel & Resort. We knew that we wanted to get away after the wedding was over to a quiet Hawaii vacation. This place met all of our needs. There is a terrific restaurant on property and the beach has wonderful and fun activities. We drove to Waikiki for shopping but was always happy to get back to the Kahala Hotel & Resort.

Honolulu Vacation

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki was in a fabulous location overlooking the beach. The service was impecable and delightful to deal with. The breakfast buffett could have been better but it was okay.
Lindsey Scully, Los Angeles, CA

Great View!!!!

I recently just stayed here with a good friend of mine. We really enjoyed our 32nd floor accommodations here. The view was AMAZING. During our stay they had a parade and we just sat on our lanai (balcony) and watched it. We loved waking up and watching the surfers every morning, but unlike California the number of them grew as it got later in the day. The room was beautiful, a little stark but it was still nice and classy looking. I loved having the flat screen TV each night to fall asleep to. There were a couple of things that did bother me though. You do hear a lot of hallway noise and they nickel and dime you for everything. I think coffee in my room each morning was $1.50 (single cup brewer) and slipper use was $3. I know its Hawaii...but come on! All in all I'd stay here again, just maybe bring my own coffee pot!
Tara, Huntington Beach, CA

Where do I start?

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Location was perfect (right across from the beach), service was friendly, shopping was awesome (you don't have to leave property) and our view gave us a great shot of Waikiki Beach! It was truly the perfect hotel for our trip, thank you again!
Heather, Lexington, Kentucky

Was an Ok place

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki for a few nights this past July 2010. We decided on this hotel after researching many sites. I must say that the people at Great Hawaii Vacations were very honest and helpful. The rooms are very small and the service was so-so. But, we got a really great deal and the Hyatt is in a great location right across the street from Waikiki Beach. Overall, it was a good stay. Next time, I think we'll try something on the beach like the Sheraton Waikiki. I heard from some friends of mine that they've done some really great room renovations. Look forward to going back to Oahu in the near future.
Sandra Barker, Seoul,

Rooms are tiny, but location is great

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki on the recommendation of some friends. They told us about the smallish rooms, but we were ok with it since we were not going to be in our rooms that much. We booked one of their oceanview rooms and it did not disappoint. The views of Waikiki Beach was awesome. Because the towers at the Hyatt Waikiki are so tall, it really give you a tremendous view of Waikiki. We enjoyed our brief stay in Oahu quite a bit. Waikiki Beach is a bit crowded, but that's what we expected, so no big surprises there. All in all, a very good stay. You really cannot go wrong in staying at any of the Hyatt resorts in Hawaii.
Tim Park, San Mateo, CA

Our oceanview at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki was.....

Our trip to Oahu didn't start off the best. Our flight got delayed from LAX and we arrived into Honolulu late evening. What was suppose to be a 5 hour flight, ended up being like 5 hours + 6 hours of wait time. Anyway, we finally reached the Hyatt Waikiki. It was like 10pm. We went to bed immediately. The next day came around and I walked out onto the balcony and saw the most beautiful view of Waikiki and the pacific ocean. It was simply beautiful. Just gazing out to the ocean made all the hassle of traveling worth it. Hawaii is simply the best.
Sammy Shepard, Huntington Beach, CA

Still a good value

My husband and I are regular travelers to Hawaii, and we've stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki a few times. The location is great, the views are enjoyable, and the price is more reasonable than some places right on the beach. The rooms are okay, but a little on the small side. Thankfully, the kids all grew up, so we don't have to share a room with them! All in all, Daniel did a great job when it came to finding us a great air/hotel package for the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Hawaiian Airlines had a great flight special that saved us $200 versus our trip last year. We can't wait to book again!
Jacqueline R., San Diego, CA

Favorite Waikiki hotel

Recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki ... another great recommendation from Great Hawaii Vacations! the view from the high floors is amazing, and such a great view from the pool. Very central to shopping and nightlife. A great value!

A slice of heaven!

This hotel was the true epitomy of elegance. We were double upgraded to an Ocean View room overlooking the pool and it We loved the speedy way housekeeping showed up after we called to make up your room. On rainy days the bellman made sure you had an umbrella to take with you. The food was excellent. We dined at Orchids, had room service and the buffet breakfast and had not one complaint. The house without a key was as tranquil as it gets with the lovely hula dancer and the slack key guitar. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were so soft. The pool attendants were right there. It was as if they watched you to make sure you were attended to. We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone!

Honeymoon Delight

Well for a first time experience to the Islands it was exactly what people say it is. Paradise. The hotel services had made me and my wife feel like a King and Queen. The staffing and management staff were top notch. Very friendly and made you feel welcome to be there. It had us talking for a while after we left the hotel to jouney onto another Island and then back home. The experience was so good that we are now planning out 2005 trip and staying at the hotel for a longer period of time. We look forward to seeing all of you again in the near future.

Honeymooning in Hawaii

We stayed at the Halekulani Resort in Waikiki Beach. Halekulani translates as "House Befitting Heaven" and the translation says it all. It was selected the number-one hotel on the island in 2003 by every top travel magazine and publication you can think of: Cond Nast Traveler, Travel and Leisure, Zagat's Top US Hotels, Resorts and spas, and so on. We were absolutely blown away by this place! We have both stayed at some very nice hotels before this one, but I have to say Halekulani stands apart, far apart. Everything about this resort says each guest is treated like a VIP big shot. Starting with a very private check-in where you are greeted by a receptionist who escorts you to your room for a private registration. Then ending with the stretch limo service to the airport, which is at the cost of a regular cab ride for their guests. This resort treats you like a VIP. Complimentary Champagne, fresh chocolate covered strawberries and assorted fruits were prearranged on our coffee table with a personalized card congratulating us on our honeymoon. Our room was very large and lavish for a partial ocean view room. We had an incredible view of the pool, diamond head, and Waikiki beach from our private lanais. We had a better view than some of the ocean view rooms did! The service was A+, right from arrival to departure everyone addressed us as Mr. and Mrs. Heary. Even the staff you dont expect, like housekeeping, bell staff, wait staff, and pool attendants addressed us like visiting VIPs. The pool at Halekulani was very nice with oversize pool towels. Our only complaint was that it closed at 6pm every night. It would have made a perfect moonlit swimming spot. The resort is of course right on a great stretch of Waikiki beach with a stunning view of diamond head in the distance. The beach was impeccably maintained. The central location of Halekulani made shopping, eating, and site seeing a breeze. As for the restaurants, see the restaurants section above. Overall this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at and recommend it even given its hefty price (it IS worth it). We will never forget our experience at the house befitting heaven.

Birthday in Hawaii

We went to the Halekulani for my daughter's 15th birthday. It was perfect for us and although the property was busy it was quiet and peaceful at the same time. The staff was very friendly and our check in process was easy. Our room was clean and updated and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely visit the Halekulani again!

Best Experience Ever

My wife and I just celebrated the 40th anniversary of our first date at Halekulani. My travel agent said I would not regret it and she was absolutely right. The property is absolutely lovely but what sets Halekulani apart is the overall service provided from the time you arrive to the time you depart. The personal greetings at breakfast, the room service, the quality of food and level of service at the various restaurants on site are all exceptional. We treated ourselves to "La Mer" , the on site five diamond restaurant, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. Orchids restaurant on site serves wonderful dinners and a world class Sunday Brunch. We look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future.

Couples retreat!

I took my wife to the Halekulani to get away from the kids and take some time off together and reconnect. The property was fabulous and quiet....so romantic. I realized that it's a popular place for couples and return guests. I can see why.

Peaceful and full of Aloha Spirit

My wife and I stayed at the Halekulani last month for our Anniversary. We chose the property because of all the reviews we read about it being peaceful and the staff being so friendly. We were not disappointed and everything nice we read about it was true. I would refer any adult couple there who wants to "get away" and have a taste of Aloha Spirit!

Our time at the Embassy in Waikiki was just perfect. The resort is gorgeous and makes it impossible to concentrate on anything but the fact that you are in paradise. The suite was breathtaking and the view was even better! I loved being able to hang out at the pool or take a walk on Waikiki Beach. Everything was right there. This property was worth every penny!

If there is a paradise, this is it!

We booked this unit after very much research. My husband and I had been in Hawaii several times, but this was the first trip for my in-laws who were traveling with us, so I wanted everything to be perfect. Pu'uona surely fits the bill !! Our 2200 sq.ft. 3 bedroom unit was lovely, barely 50 yards from uncrowded Baby beach, just north of Lahaina, right off of Front Street in a residental area. Shallow water, safe for children. We stayed for 1 week and after the 3rd day my Mother in Law said: "If there is a paradise, this it it". They hardly wanted to leave the unit and just enjoy the view, peace and tranquility. Top-notch accomodations, perfect location, private beach, amazing sunsets, and quiet neighbors - these things helped make a week on Maui a dream vacation! Thank you for your suggestion!
