We were very impressed with the new Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort. From its beautiful entrance to its pool side ocean views this hotel is a jewel of Hawaii. The spa and fitness center, oceanfront Crystal Blue Lounge with its evening manta ray watch, water activities (including the longest waterslide in Hawaii), golf and tennis make this one of the top on our list of Hawaii vacation spots.

Restaurant Name:
Kai Restaurant
Food Type: Local Cuisine
Price Range:

Restaurant Kai is aptly named. Kai is the Hawaiian word for ocean and from this restaurant's setting on the northern end of the resort, expansive views of serene Keauhou Bay and the Kona Coastline make it a prime dining spot. Here, in an area once known as "Pa'akai Point" ancient Hawaiians collected precious sea salt. Today, as then, rolling surf collides against black lava outcroppings where pockets of water collect, evaporate and leave salt drying in the hot Hawaiian sun.
For breakfast, Kai offers a lavish buffet of morning favorites punctuated by fresh tropical fruits and juices. Families applaud kid-friendly selections and adults appreciate the variety of healthy selections.
Each evening, Kai is transformed to showcase a backdrop of shimmering moonlight amidst a luxuriant setting. To celebrate the ocean, seafood highlights the dinner menu of surprising sophistication that fuses the cuisines of many cultures of Hawaii in delightful flavor combinations. Each Saturday evening, Kai presents a bountiful Seafood Buffet.

Ho'ola Spa

As the historical playground of Hawaii's royalty, Keauhou has long been known as a place to rejuvenate and revitalize the spirit.
This tradition of healing is nurtured at Ho'ola Spa. The Hawaiian word, ho'ola, means to heal. The design of the new facility makes use of the resort's natural surroundings and tranquil environment overlooking the sea.
Hawaii's unique cultural and healing traditions are incorporated into services such as massage, facial and other body treatments.
We chose the Sheraton Keauhou because we heard that it is a family-oriented hotel.
Our kids fell in love with with pool. It has a sand beach, waterfalls, bridges, fountains and a 200 foot-long "Lava Slide".
There is also an Activities Center and daily children's programs with arts and crafts and a little history of the Islands.
The room was great, roomy and clean. The beds were new and quite comfortable. It had a refrigerator was nice to keep cold drinks and water on hand.
Yes this hotel is not right in the middle of the 'strip' but that what makes it a resort-you get to relax! Town is only a 10 min drive & theres some shops w/in 5 mins.
The best part of this hotel are the manta ray's. The hotel overlooks iagiant cliff and a large group of mantas come here every night to feed. The hotel has a spotlight that shines on them all night. They put on a free show, dancing and playing in the waters below. The kids were mesmerized (so were we).
One terrific feature of the Sheraton is their Hospitality Suite. We had a a late flight out and asked about a alate check-out. The staff suggested that we check-out at our required time and they would hold our luggage while we took advanatge of a few more hours on the Island. When we returned, we were shown their Hospitality Suite, this is a fully stocked room. They give it to you at no charge for 1 hour. Plenty of time to shower and change.
We found this hotel a terrific place to stay, and our children agree.
