Property Description
The Kona Makai is an oceanfront low-rise condominium complex with nice tropical grounds located approximately two miles from town.
Enjoy the Kona Makai, one of the most sought after locations on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. This ocean front property has it all: lush tropical gardens, ocean front pool, spa and BBQ, tennis, and covered parking.
At the Kona Makai, mornings and evenings are a magical time on the lanai. In the morning you are seated among a lush tropical garden with beautiful brightly colored birds. At this time in the morning you may even see luxury cruise ships sailing into port as well as whales and dolphins in season. In the evening you will be treated to unforgettable Kona sunsets where the colors of the sky and sea are beyond description and quite possibly your imagination.

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for suggesting the Kona Makai. We wanted to visit the Big Island for a relaxing vacation. This place filled the bill!
The complex itself is located on the ocean front, set back from the very busy Alii Drive. The grounds and the gardens are beautifully and carefully landscaped. The pool and jacuzzi are great and a nice gathering place to watch the evening sunsets with the other guests.
There is no sand beach, but you are able to snorkel or scuba right in front of the complex. The parasail companies launch right by the complex and are fun to watch. Maybe next time, we try it!
The Kona Maki is not overcrowded and the office staff is very friendly and helpful. By the end of the week, we felt surrounded by friends and it was hard to leave, but we know we will be welcomed back.
Thank you again for helping us arrange a vacation we'll never forget.

This is the place ...NOT fancy but great. I hate to write reviews afraid too many willl find this place. There is very nice water in front of the Kona Makai. Snorkel in the EARLY morning as it gets rough in the afternoon. Great sunset. Quiet. Even has a barberque area. We walked to town (not for out of shape person). Do this in the day. From airport, go to Cosco- 1 mile on the way to town. Get your wine, pie, cookies, bread, the rest in town.
STAY IN THE CONDO...RELAX...
