Pono Kai in Kapaa looks out at the famous "Sleeping Giant," a mountain range that resembles its namesake. With over 13 tropical acres, this Kauai oceanfront favorite is spacious and provides ample room for everyone.
For starters, at Pono Kai, you'll find ping pong, shuffleboard, bocce ball, and a croquet court! Check out a bicycle and take a cruise along the 2-mile bike path or try a round of putt-putt golf. Little garden paths, an herb garden, a trickling waterfall and a pond filled with colorful carp give this place its extra charm.
It has a great family atmosphere with many daily activities and complimentary equipment for all. Located 8 miles from Lihue Airport in the town of Kapaa. All units at Pono Kai feature full kitchens.

Pono Kai is approximately 20 minutes from the Lihue Airport. It is 40 minutes to Poipu, 25 minutes to Princeville and 35 - 40 minutes to Hanalei or Haena.
Beach Information
The beach in front of the Pono Kai can be rocky and sometimes rough. We recommend that you use other beaches located in Hanalei, Princeville, Wailua or Poipu.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Pono Kai. It was our honeymoon and we really enjoyed the place we stayed. It is centrally located for many other activities to do on the island. The beach is nice enough to lay out and sun tan and the swimming is doable. We really enjoyed our condo it was all newly remodeled. It had hard wood floors in the hallway and kitchen. We had a washer/dryer to wash clothes and towels if needed. The pool was spacious to lounge at. The people on staff were very helpful with questions or other concerns. Thanks Pono Kai for making our honeymoon a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.

Thank you so much for helping me book my hotel through Great Hawaii Vacations. I originally booked the Aqua Wave Hotel, and you offered a recommendation on the Resortquest Waikiki Beach Hotel. I took your advice and cannot thank you enough. The location was great, as well as the amenities & services the hotel had to offer. I would definately stay at that hotel again.
